The Malian selection who will compete la CAN 2022 (January 9 – February 6) in Cameroon is known. This Saturday, December 25, coach Mohamed Magassouba unveiled a list of 28 players summoned.
We find in this list no less than eleven players playing in France including Rennes side Hamari Traoré, Moussa Doumbia, El Bilal Touré (Reims), Kiki Kouyaté (Metz), Massadio Haïdara (Lens), Charles Traoré, Kalifa Coulibaly (Nantes) and Rominigue Kouamé N’Guessan (Troyes) with regard to Ligue 1.
Senou Coulibaly (Dijon), Mamadou Fofana (Amiens) and Lassine Sinayoko (Auxerre) are also called up but play in Ligue 2.
Round of 16 in 2019
Absent for many months, midfielder Yves Bissouma is making his comeback, however the Lensois Cheick Doucouré is not part of the adventure, he preferred to focus on the championship with the Blood and Gold.
Mali’s best result in the African Cup of Nations is a third place in 2012 and 2013. During the last edition in 2019, Les Aigles reached the round of 16, eliminated by Côte d’Ivoire (1-0 ).
