Campers without a test? Vaccination will not help until the end of August

Until then, children must prove themselves by a negative PCR or antigen test, or a self-test, before entering the camp. It is also possible to use the confirmation of covid’s experience in the last six months. It depends on the camp organizers.

How is it possible that the 12+ vaccination, which was launched on 1 July, will not exempt thousands of vaccinated campers from mandatory testing? This is due to the prescribed vaccination periods and rules for proving infectivity.

Parents have already registered 38,000 children for vaccination by yesterday evening (out of a total of 456,000 children aged 12 to 15), of whom 13,500 already have a deadline. The first dose will not be valid for them in the camps due to the fact that the government no longer considers the first dose to be effective against the covid, especially against the delta variant.

However, thousands of children will still receive the second dose during the holidays, which they may receive no earlier than 34 days after the first dose. However, in order for the children to be able to apply for a certificate of infectivity, for example in the camps, they will have to expire two weeks after the second dose.

This deadline is set because only then does the necessary production of antibodies begin. Confirmation of infectivity without further tests will therefore not be available to children until the end of August.

The vaccine will help in schools from September

According to the Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (YES), the mandatory testing in schools, which is expected from the beginning of September in three waves, will be abolished for fully vaccinated pupils and students. It will start on September 1st, followed by a retesting on September 6th and 9th. If more than 25 infected per 100,000 inhabitants were confirmed in a week, another round of testing would follow. In addition, according to Vojtěch, the government would consider resuming mandatory testing in companies when achieving this value.
