The future of the African cycling formation NTT Pro Cycling looks very uncertain. The Japanese telecommunications company NTT is leaving cycling.
“This is of course very disappointing news, but we will continue to fight for the future of our team and look at every possible option,” said NTT Pro Cycling.
Uncertain times are also breaking for Victor Campenaerts, one of the five riders who still has a contract with the team for 2021.
“I already took it into account, because the good news had been delayed for a while”, Campenaerts told Sporza. “It would be great if a new sponsor would come, but it is five past twelve. I think it will be very difficult to get a new sponsor.”

“Obviously I’m looking forward to a new team, because I want to remain a professional cyclist. A new sponsor would be ideal, but I can’t wait endlessly for it.”
“It is not an easy time to change teams. CCC is also in trouble and many teams have already been formed. There will not be many options.”
“I think there will be a place for me somewhere, hopefully with a team that will make me feel good. It is not according to plan for me and I would have preferred to see it differently. But there is not much I can do about it. “
“Hopefully I will ride a good Giro: that can help to attract a new sponsor or get me good papers for a new team.”
