The Civil Protection from the Campania Region has issued a new warning Weather Alert per thunderstorms with hydrogeological criticality of Yellow level from 6am on Thursday, September 5th, to 6am on Friday, September 6ththroughout the regional territory, with the exception of the alert zones 4 (Upper Irpinia and Sannio), e 7 (Tanagro). The storm phenomena will be characterized by forecast uncertainty and rapid evolution but could be particularly intense and sudden. The possibility of lightning, hail and gusts of wind is also expected.
The recommendations
Attention must be paid to hydrogeological risk: among the main consequences of the impact of rain and storms on the ground, there are flooding, rising water levels of watercourses, water flow on roads, runoff with transport of material, falling rocks and landslides also due to the effects induced by forest fires that have occurred in the area, as well as in consideration of soil saturation or conditions of hydrogeological fragility of the land. Due to gusts of wind, public greenery must be monitored (branches or trees could fall) and the correct maintenance of structures exposed to stress.
