Campania Libri Festival, 200 events from Aciman to Pauls





(ANSA) – NAPLES, SEPTEMBER 25 – André Aciman, Alan Pauls, Clara Usón, Maxime Chattam and Frédéric Pajak are among the international guests of the Campania Libri Festival (3-6 October, Palazzo Reale in Naples), with over two hundred events, among the Italians the winner of the Strega prize, Donatella Di Pietrantonio. Third edition, a record of 35 thousand attendees last year, the event is entirely financed by the Campania Region and organized by the Fondazione Campania dei Festival, chaired by Alessandro Barbano and directed by Ruggero Cappuccio, the editorial care is by Massimo Adinolfi. The keywords chosen are ‘Traces, Bodies, Landscapes, Powers’. Also expected at the opening (5:30 pm) in the Teatro di Corte are Marta Cartabia, Ernesto Galli Della Luigi Zoja, Ilaria Capua, Adriana Cavarero. Guests at the festival include Maurizio De Giovanni, Antonio Franchini, Davide Casaleggio, Antonio Monda, Salvatore Settis. The traveling section offers forty events spread across Naples and the various provinces of Campania. To close the first day (9:00 p.m.) in collaboration with Film Commission Regione Campania, for Sofia Loren’s ninetieth birthday, Vittorio de Sica’s Matrimonio all’Italiana will be screened in a restored version, accompanied by a tribute with Isa Danieli, Lina Sastri and Mariangela D’Abbraccio. There will be three Lectio on the main moments in the history of united Italy (the Risorgimento, Fascism, the Republic), entrusted to Carmine Pinto, Alessandra Tarquini and Andrea Graziosi. For ‘Writers who read writers’: Viola Ardone will read Julio Cortázar (for the fortieth anniversary of his death), Tommaso Pincio will read Elias Canetti (on Kafka, for the hundredth anniversary of his birth), Luca Crovi will read Georges Simenon. Also on stage is the project ‘Eretiche’ by Ruggero Cappuccio, coordinated by Marco Perillo with Cristina Marconi-Virginia Woolf, Marialaura Simeoni-Elsa De Giorgi, Maria Antonietta Ferraloro – Licy von Wolff-Stomersee, Maria Grazia Insinga with her ‘A Sciame’. For the very young expected Karim B., Eleonora Fornasari, Tiffany Vecchietti, Jude and Ella Archer, Sabrina Efionayi. ‘Andata e ritorno’ will be a comparison between writers from the North and South of Italy, among others Luca Crovi, Patrizia Rinaldi. Daniele Tinti and Stefano Rapone will record live a new episode of ‘Tintoria’, the most followed podcast of the moment. Rai will propose three unreleased documentaries: ‘O Festival’, ‘Eduardo mio’ by Lina Sastri and ‘Un posto al sole ancora ci sarà’. Repubblica – Robinson will bring Ascanio Celestini, Ezio Mauro, Sami Al Ajrami, Filippo Ceccarelli to the festival. Il Mattino will present its Serao Award. Three meetings with celebrities, curated by Titta Fiore: Luisa Ranieri (October 4), Marco D’Amore (October 5) and Sergio Rubini (October 6) and there will be a tribute for the 30th anniversary of the film Il Postino, the last one directed by Massimo Troisi. With the Goethe-Institut we will go ‘Towards Frankfurt’, a step towards the imminent Buchmesse where, with the support of the Campania Region, from October 16 to 20, Campania publishing will be promoted.
