Campaign against High Court Judges: Bench formation for contempt of court proceedings

Web Desk: The Islamabad High Court has constituted larger benches for contempt of court proceedings after the letters written by the judges on the social media campaign against the senior judges Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani and Justice Babarstar.
Two larger benches of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Babarstar will hear the case separately.
A three-member larger bench of Islamabad High Court comprising Chief Justice Amir Farooq, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir will hear the case of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri and Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan will be part of the bench for contempt of court proceedings on Justice Babar Sattar’s letter.
The cause list of the two cases will be issued tomorrow for contempt of court proceedings on the campaign against the judges of the Islamabad High Court and will be fixed for hearing.
It should be noted that a negative campaign was being conducted on social media on Justice Babarstar due to dual citizenship and other allegations, on which Justice Babarstar had written a letter to the Chief Justice for contempt of court proceedings.
Justice Babarstar had earlier issued a clarification on the allegations leveled against him and rejected all the allegations.
Later, Justice Mohsin Akhtarkiani also wrote a letter for contempt of court proceedings against him, in which he said that contempt of court proceedings should be initiated against the malicious campaign.
