Campagnolo Super Record S Wireless: More bandwidth for less money

The special edition is based on the top model Super Record Wireless, which TOUR has already tested extensively.

>> Campagnolo Super Record Wireless – the most expensive groupset in the world in the TOUR test

The “S” version offers a wider gear range at a lower price. Bora WTO carbon wheels were also designed to match, so that the group and wheels match each other tone-on-tone.

Translation bandwidth grows

The road bike group is designed to provide the right gear ratio for racing cyclists of all ability levels. New are larger chainrings and larger cassettes. Up until now there were cranksets with 45-29, 48-32 and 50-34 teeth. The “S” version adds 52-36, 53-39 and 54-39 chainring combinations. Each of the six can be combined with the three cassettes: 10-27, 10-29 and 11-32 (new).

The Campagnolo Super Record S Wireless gear shift offers a larger gear range than the Super Record Wireless without the “S”, but should function and shift just as precisely and reliably. In our test, the Super Record proved to be durable and reliable, both when changing from one chainring to the other and when changing gears on the cassette. The latter required precise alignment of the rear derailleur under each individual pinion beforehand.

Around 1200 euros cheaper

The top group costs 5200 euros (RRP) and will cost you a lot of money. The new S group is available for just under 4000 euros, making it around 1200 euros cheaper. The quality and functions are taken from the big sister, but the “S” uses some different materials – with the result that it is 150 grams heavier. In other words, you can save 150 times eight euros for every gram of extra weight.
