It has been a different week at “Camp Culinaris”, when the participants have been divided into red and blue teams, each with their own restaurant manager.
The teams will compete to impress presenter Kjartan Skjelde (46) the most, and the restaurant manager on the losing team must face one of his teammates in a cooking match.
The production intervened: – Got scared
After a nerve-wracking competition, it is the blue that draws the shortest straw, and they therefore have to send the team’s restaurant manager Henrik Elvjord Borg (28) into a cooking competition.
The rest of the team fight in a training match, and there it is Ellen Aabol (22) who draws the shortest straw and has to fight against Borg.
– Big moment of frustration
In the cooking competition, Borg and Aabol are tasked with making the Japanese dish ramen. After an even match, it is Borg who secures another week in “Camp Culinaris”.
When Se og Hør met Aabol at the press day for “Camp Culinaris”, Aabol could tell that she was infected with the corona virus just two or three weeks before recording.
Smoke from “Camp Kulinaris”: – Like a cold shower
This would lead to major obstacles in the competition.
– Throughout my stay I had neither taste nor sense of smell. So I have been standing and cooking without tasting or smelling it, says Aabol.
– It was an incredibly big moment of frustration and worry. I also chose not to tell anyone, because I thought it would be seen as a weakness. I just kept quiet about it.
In the end, the influencer chose to lay the cards on the table.
– When I stand there and tell it in front of everyone, all the participants and Kjartan (Skjelde, program manager, journalist’s note) were left speechless.
Drama on screen
Despite the fact that season 6 of the cooking competition recently began to roll across the screens, viewers have been able to see dramatic arguments unfold at the celebrity restaurant.
– Can’t take another loss
Among other things, Aabol was accused of trying to sabotage the then restaurant manager Lydia Gieselmann (29), which the 22-year-old denied.
The behavior did not go down well with either the other participants or the TV viewers, and on Wednesday the food influencer had to take to Instagram to defend himself.
She reminded people that a lot is being cut away, and that her father’s cancer affected her stay. He passed away last Christmas.
– Dad would have been proud
Aabol told Se og Hør that the people around her have been important while “Camp Culinaris” is being shown on TV.
– I feel that I handle the attention well, although of course there are some comments that sting a little extra sometimes. Then you just have to debrief with those around you, and I am very grateful for everyone I have in my life.
