Back in the years, the gem was in the possession of many rulers who fell from power
An ancient curse has startled Queen Camilla! Prince Charles’ wife refused to wear the crown with the infamous and obscenely large Kohinoor diamond on her head.
The Kohinoor diamond, whose name means “Mountain of Light,” is often associated with a curse.
The Kohinoor was seized from India by the East India Company during the colonial era and gifted to Queen Victoria. It is embedded in a crown that was last worn by King Charles’ grandmother at her coronation.
Pakistan, then part of British-ruled India, and Afghanistan have also claimed its ownership since 1947. According to rough calculations, the value of Kohinoor amounts to about 1 billion dollars.
