Camila Giorgi, 32, will not play in the French Open.

Now we know why.

The Italian star has hastily and hilariously chosen to end his career on the sly.

A little over a month ago, Camila Giorgi participated in the major tournament Miami Open and met world number one Iga Swiatek.

Since then, she has not been seen on the tour.

The mystery grew when she did not make the entry list for the year’s second grand slam, the French Open, which begins at the end of May.

Not said a word

Now her name has appeared – in an unexpected place.

It is at the top of ITIA’s (International Tennis Integrity Agency) list over retired players.

Thus, Camila Giorgi has chosen to end her career.

This without mentioning a single word about the decision in interviews or on social media.

Was 26th in the world

Giorgi has played on the WTA tour for over ten years.

She has won four titles, including one WTA 1000 title – Canadian Open 2021.

She reached her highest ranking in the fall of 2018 when she was 26th in the world and she was at her best in the quarter-finals in a grand slam context – in Wimbledon 2018.

Now the career seems to be over.
