London, Feb 13 (EFE).- The Queen Consort of the United Kingdom, Camila, canceled this Monday the commitments she had scheduled this week after having tested positive for covid, Buckingham Palace reported in a statement.
An official spokesman for the official residence of the king and queen in London had previously announced that the 75-year-old wife of Carlos III was suspending visits on Tuesday after having contracted a “seasonal illness”, although she assured then that she hoped to maintain her schedule from on Wednesday.
Hours later, however, the Palace explained that “after suffering the symptoms of a cold, Her Majesty the Queen Consort has tested positive for the covid virus.”
“With regret, he has therefore canceled all his public engagements this week and sends his sincere apologies to those who were supposed to attend them,” the note added.
The queen consort was scheduled to travel this Tuesday to the West Midlands county, in central England, where she was going to visit a ballet school and a library.
Camila, who already canceled various events in February 2022 due to contracting coronavirus, was going to be present on Wednesday at a reception at Clarence House to celebrate the second anniversary of her online book club.
On Thursday, Carlos III and his wife had planned to travel to Milton Keynes to attend a celebration on the occasion of the granting of the title of city to the town, northwest of London. EFE
