Yaoundé 6. Place called TKC crossroads. Horror this Friday, January 19, 2024. A truck reduces a motorcycle-taxi driver to pulp. The horrible scene took place at 5 p.m. local time.
According to witnesses at the scene, the motorcycle driver made a risky maneuver to overtake the truck which did not allow him to go at the desired speed. “I still have goosebumps. I saw this benskineur (motorcycle taxi driver in local jargon, Editor’s note), overtaking the truck. He unfortunately missed his maneuver, and went under the truck. The truck crushed him, his head exploded and his brain was on the tar. A real horror scene. I couldn’t bear to watch,” Martin confesses.
And to follow suit, a trader adds that motorcycle taxi drivers engage in daring maneuvers on the section Carrefour lieu-dit Tkc – Entrance Simbock, while traffic is very dense on this line, and therefore that it’s easy to hit a truck while overtaking.
For other witnesses to the scene, “fortunately the benskineur was alone. If he had one or two passengers, there would have been as many deaths.”
The gendarmerie arrived on the scene for the usual findings and investigations, and called on the firefighters for the formalities linked to the evacuation of the body.
