CAMEROON :: letter sent to Young NGOMBE by writer CALVIN DJOUARI :: CAMEROON
I’m not going to give lessons like activists often do. I am a writer, a teacher, and my position allows me to understand life and give advice to a brave young brother. Your arrest raised the response of many men of good intention who saw your demands as noble, coming from a young man who was worried about the future of his country. Personally, I did not know you before this arrest. It was after this event that I discovered and approved your productions, because in some videos you brought up serious problems affecting our country. Just as I was about to protect you, you were freed.
This letter follows my first article written about you. For history, you have already marked it. Your name will be synonymous with bravery. But my letter has much to do with the police detective competition in which you succeeded brilliantly. Everything indicates that you deserved it, and your activity ensures that your name will not disappear, unlike what often happens in our countries where you ‘ competition would fail without money. Now that your name is on the list, don’t listen to bad advice. It’s a fantastic opportunity. Go do your training and serve your country as you wanted, nothing will happen to you. Evil tongues think this is a way to silence you, but these are only the ideas of campaigners who are false for a while. Even though this competition is a trap, it would be a mistake to refuse to enter the police academy.
This is an opportunity to be useful to your country and contribute to the security of the society you protect. Every job has risks, and police face dangerous situations every day. Sometimes they need to spend time with loved ones to deal with emergencies. It is a commitment to the values of the Republic and the maintenance of peace, which has often caused revolution in your country. The role of a police officer is unpredictable and offers a wide variety of situations, but it is an interesting job that helps you understand how our societies work. It is by entering this role that you can be useful, not by rejecting it. The State, by giving you this opportunity, recognizes in you a man of honor, a brave young man who risked his life for others. Take this opportunity.
Join the police and you will be happy, you will have a good career. Do not allow yourself to be influenced by discouragement and fake news. It is because you feel a strong sense of duty to your country that you have taken this test. You succeeded because you are intelligent and deserve it. You have the necessary human qualities and skills to be a police officer: strong integrity, honesty, ethics, responsibility, humility, and respect for the law. Your sense of justice and commitment is evident; your ability to communicate well, your confidence and your patriotism are major assets. Start your career and find in it the necessary tools for personal advancement. Your recent arrest is an additional boost to your fans and a recognition of your ability by your peers. Enter the training, my little one, the real trap is to deny it.
