The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has launched a warning severe towards the clubs which chose to boycott the professional championships of the 2023/2024 season. In an official statement published on August 17, 2023, FECAFOOT recalled that the clubs currently in withdrawal had themselves dissolved the Cameroon Professional Football League (LFPC) and are now trying to reactivate it clandestinely.
The FECAFOOT highlighted the verdicts issued by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on August 15, 2023, in procedures TAS 2022/A/9277 and TAS 2022/A/9283. These decisions do not confer any power on the LFPC to supervise the professional championships in Cameroon.
The governing body of Cameroonian football reaffirmed its decision to withdraw the prerogatives of the LFPC and stressed that the Transitional Council of Professional Football remains the one and only competent body in charge of the organization and management of professional football competitions. in the country.
FECAFOOT urged the clubs to act with responsibility and maturity, complying with the decisions of the competent authorities. The body also warned against any disruptive action, indicating that severe sanctions will be applied in case of harmful attitude.
Reiterating its commitment to the development of professional football in Cameroon, FECAFOOT expressed its wishes for a successful sports season for all clubs.
