Born on May 1, 2004 in Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon, NGASSA NGAMENI AURÉLIE FABIOLA in civil status, is lively and determined whose sole objective is to make a career in the world of international national fashion.
The only girl in a family of 5 children, Chelsea, as she is called by those close to her, began to materialize this dream through several beauty contests in her locality, notably the competition Miss health Cameroon Grand Littoral; an election at the end of which she emerged with the sash of first runner-up during the regional final of the said beauty contest.
The 19-year-old is also a communication major at the University of Douala. Her commitment to health and wellness is deep-rooted, and she says she “will do anything to raise awareness of the importance of these values.”
At Miss Health Cameroon, Aurelie shows her cards
Miss Health Cameroon is a competition that promotes health and well-being. Passionate about fashion since her childhood, our “miss” found an effective way to enter this world in order to leave an indelible mark in this sector which fuels competition. To talk about her journey, once registered, the procedures followed quickly. Eighth out of fourteen candidates presented, the pressure was mounting because it was her first beauty contest with the theme: “The fight against maternal and infant mortality”. “I was really nervous at first when I met the other girls. But with the explanations from the coaches and the clarifications from the promoter, the pressure quickly went down,” she declared enthusiastically.
Scheduled for October 7, 2023, the regional final marked a month of intense training sessions for the girls alongside experienced instructors. During this evening, several passages were announced revealing exceptional clothing colors as well as beautiful projects to promote health and Aurélie Ngassa came through thanks to all her efforts and perseverance, despite certain difficulties encountered (finances, illness, unforeseen events, stress, etc.), with the title of first runner-up, Miss Health West. Title which will allow it to make its mark through different campaigns and actions for the next stage which is the Miss Health national final, announced on December 9, 2023.
What vision does the future miss have?
According to Aurélie Ngassa, in the event of a happy ending on the evening of December 9 with the title of Miss Health Cameroon, she would like to work with local and national organizations to improve access to health care for the most vulnerable populations. The first runner-up to Miss Health West 2024 also wants to raise awareness about the challenges of mental health and addiction, two issues that she says affect more and more people each year. But Aurelie’s vision is not limited to physical and mental health. As Miss Health Cameroon, she also wants to encourage people to adopt a healthier and more active lifestyle. In addition, Aurélie wants to positively impact her citizens by eating nutritious foods and exercising regularly, in order to prevent diseases and promote a longer and happier life.
Finally, Aurélie Ngassa will use the popularity offered by her platforms and social media to encourage young women to pursue their dreams and become leaders in their communities.
