To qualify for CAN 2023, scheduled from January 13 to February 11 in Ivory Coast, Cameroon will be obliged to beat the Burundi team or draw with at least four goals scored.
Despite their status as favorites in Group C of the CAN 2024 qualifiers, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have not reassured their public and their fans. In front of their home crowd, they were held by Namibia (1-1) on the 3rd day, and suffered a bitter defeat against Burundi on the 4th day (1-2).
Looking closely at the performances of other high-level teams, we realize that the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are one of the rare high-level teams who have not yet ensured their qualification after five days of competition.
The Cameroon group is made up of three teams due to Kenya’s withdrawal. The first two will automatically qualify for CAN 2023.
