New “Avatar” movie much longer than its predecessor

Avatar fans have long been waiting for the sequel to the most successful film in the history of cinema. They will be happy that, according to industry reports, “Avatar: The Way of Water” is expected to run for more than three hours. However, a Cameron film was even longer.
When the long-awaited sequel to James Cameron’s sci-fi blockbuster “Avatar” hits theaters on December 14, a lot of strength will be needed. As reported by various US industrial sites, “The way of the water” will run for 190 minutes, which means it will last more than three hours. That would make the sequel about half an hour longer than the 2009 original, which wasn’t exactly fun at two hours and 41 minutes.
However, it wouldn’t be Cameron’s longest film: “Titanic” is slightly ahead with three hours and 14 minutes. In addition to Cameron’s two works, numerous Marvel productions have recently shown that films that are too long are not poison at the box office. After “Avatar”, “Avengers: Endgame” and “Titanic” complete the top 3 of the most commercially successful films of all time.
However, Cameron doesn’t seem to think much about the competition from the MCU and its DC counterpart. At least the character design in the respective comic book adaptations recently criticized harshly. Superheroes “have relationships, but they don’t really have any. They never give up on their motivations for their kids. The things that really ground us and give us strength, love and purpose? The action of the “Avatar” sequel takes place more than a decade after the original.
