Cameron County reported 94 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Monday.
According to a Cameron County news release, 36 of the new positive cases reported come from shelters and detention centers for unaccompanied minors.
The press release did not specify when they tested positive. Cameron County reported no new deaths Monday; the COVID-19 death count remains at 1,679.
Since the pandemic began, 41,961 people in Cameron County have tested positive for the virus.
39,516 people have recovered from the virus in the county, according to the news release.
Vaccination efforts continue throughout Cameron County; Currently, 61.87% of the population, aged 12 years and over, is fully vaccinated.
