Cameron County Reports 52 New COVID-19 Cases

Cameron County reported 52 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

According to a Cameron County news release, six of the new positive cases reported come from shelters and detention centers for unaccompanied minors.

The press release did not specify when they tested positive. Cameron County reported no new deaths Wednesday; the COVID-19 death count remains at 1,672.

Since the pandemic began, 41,496 people in Cameron County have tested positive for the virus.

39,049 people have recovered from the virus in the county, according to the news release.

Vaccination efforts continue throughout Cameron County; Currently, 58.00% of the population, aged 12 years and over, is fully vaccinated.
