Cameras on a Chinese highway captured a terrifying accident, a Tesla driver took control of the Autopilot system

Chinese traffic police recently released footage of a traffic accident in which a Tesla electric car crashed into a highway barrier in China’s Jiangxi province without any sign of braking, reports AP Group. The accident should have happened on October 5.

As can be seen from the video, the electric car first broke through a water-filled plastic barrier, and then proceeded to the concrete barrier that led the car away from the construction site, and stopped after a while. At the same time, the effect must be very strong.

The driver was supposed to tell the local media that at the time of the accident the car was driving with the Tesla Autopilot system activated, while the driver did not have time to react to signs and approach bumps -starra in time. He was not involved in driving.

According to his explanation, shortly before the accident, he wanted to put his sweaty hands on a piece of cloth, which is why he stopped following the road. When he looked up, it seemed too late to respond. However, he should have escaped the accident uninjured.

As reported by local media, Tesla still does not support the Full Self-Driving (FSD) system in China, which should be able to control the vehicle independently. Instead, it only offers the Autopilot system, which, despite its name, is only a secondary assistance system. He still asks the driver to follow the road and be ready to take over immediately.
