Saudi camels enjoy the snow in Tabouk, Saudi Arabia, Aysha bint Abdulaziz tweeted (@ ayosh70)

Parts of the desert kingdom of Saudi Arabia are experiencing snowfall – and internet users are rushing online to document it. From photos to videos, from Twitter to Facebook, and from Instagram to Snapchat, there is a minute-by-minute feed of how the local people experience the snowfall.

The snow, although rare in Saudi Arabia, is more common in Tabuk, in northwestern Saudi Arabia and near the border with Jordan, where snowfalls are recorded every three to four years.

The Storm Center shares this snippet with information:

Musleh Elharbi twittert:

It is snowing in the Aldhahr Mountains and the ground has turned white. Check out the footage on my Snapchat channel.

Aysha bint Abdulaziz shows the photos he took early in the day with sheep and camels in the snow:

Camels in the desert, and these sheep are the most beautiful.

And Fahad Aldhorfari shows a video with snowfall on a car windshield (no joke) that was immediately retweeted at least 70 times:
