ABU DHABI, September 1st / WAM / Today, in all fields of the country, the competitions of the first preliminary week for camel racing 2023-2024, related to the Facts category, were launched in all fields of the country, and were held on the grounds of more than 30 fields.
The races, which were organized by the Camel Racing Federation, witnessed strong competition among the participating camel owners, who came from the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Tomorrow, the meet-and-greet category races will be held on the second day of the camel racing season, with which the races will continue, and the broadcasting category, whose challenges will be held the day after tomorrow, Sunday, with the end of the first week.
The distances will be increased in the second week, with the adult categories “Al-Thanaya, Hawl and Zumul”, which are considered the end of the journey for the participants in the various challenges.
Camel races in the country represent an authentic popular heritage, and a large segment of the country’s citizens and their brothers from the Arab Gulf states participate in the various competitions and festivals.
The races aim to consolidate heritage and instill the value of national identity in the hearts of future generations.
