Cambridge Analytica: Meta settles the lawsuit with a payment of 725 million dollars

This was triggered by revelations in 2018 when it became known that Facebook had given British political consultancy Cambridge Analytica access to the data of up to 87 million users. Meta admitted no wrongdoing, but said the settlement was “in the best interests of our community and our shareholders.”
