It is appropriate for me to resign and let his successor continue,” Hun Sen reiterated at a press conference held at parliament on Tuesday after the first session of the Seventh National Assembly.

Hun Sen also rejected criticisms that he was simply transferring positions, not power.

“This is a foolish idea. It is impossible to shake the Prime Minister’s hand and sign it. I think the new cabinet is flexible enough. I am confident that they have enough potential to achieve the country’s goal of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050,” Hun Sen reiterated.

Hun Sen also expressed hope that the new government would maintain peace and political stability and that Cambodia would emerge from its underdeveloped status.

In a speech to parliament following approval and a vote of confidence to the new members of the government, Hun Manet said he was grateful to King Norodom Sihamoni and thanked the leaders. who have confidence in the new government and are entrusted with their duty to serve the country to meet the needs and desires of the Cambodian people

Hun Manet also said the July 23 election was free, fair and transparent, with more than 8.2 million people voting, accounting for about 84.59 percent of the population on the electorate list of the Commission. national election And among them, 82.3% of those who voted support the CPP.
