Cambodia has caught the world’s largest freshwater fish, the giant stingray

The world’s largest recorded freshwater fish, the giant stingray, has been caught in the Mekong River in Cambodia, according to scientists.

The stingray, captured on 13 June, was almost four meters long and weighed 300 kilograms.

When the scientists arrived, the fish was recorded, marked with a transmitter and released back into the river.

Freshwater fish spend their entire lives only in freshwater.
