Camagüey, Feb 28 (ACN) In the filming process is the music video Convicción, composed by maestro Reinaldo Echemendía Estrada, director of the Agramontino Folkloric Ballet, whose audiovisual material stars Camagüey artists and focuses on the sense of patriotism towards Cuba.
The Rumbatá group, the Voces duo, and the pianist Norberto Puente, from the Florida Maravilla Orchestra, among other representatives of the Culture of the territory, participate in the project in a song that becomes a message from Cuba to the world.
The title of the song arises from the concept of ¡Patria o Muerte !, which is implicit in most Cubans, which means having reasons to defend the country until the end, and also to live in peace and harmony, declared Echemendía Estrada to ACN.
After highlighting the support of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and the Music Recordings and Editions Company (EGREM), especially the Caonao Recording Studio, in this city, where the number was recorded, he affirmed that one of the convictions reflected in the production it is to laugh, dance, enjoy, make music, and work for the prosperity of the nation.
We did the theme, he said, searching deep within the roots of the Antillean island through the rumba, which is an integrating element, of identity, of people, of a concept rooted in traditional popular culture so that it was audible, and in turn , to dance.
This work is a patriotic, artistic and cultural conviction, assured the teacher Echemendía.
For his part, Wilmer Ferrán, director of the folkloric group Rumbatá, considered that first of all one feels identified, because it is not only about the moment in which it is written, but also the rumba, the guiding thread, identity element, gender that we characterizes.
From that content, he added, you have to propose to give a natural response, of brotherhood, of meeting of artists who wish to transmit feelings of Cubanness to the world, through music, voices, hands, and cajon sounds and of the leathers.
He defined the material as a sound response to any call from the homeland and life, a union of artists and brothers who are present, in constant creation.
The video has as environments squares of this heritage city, among them the Carmen, San Juan de Dios, the Principal Theater, and the Major General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, whose mausoleum to the homonymous hero of Camagüey, according to Reynaldo Pérez Labrada, director of the video clip, offers many edges and visualities.
The opportunity to do culture and art, commented the director, we owe it largely to this country, therefore it is the way to show our conviction, to continue contributing.
Regarding the musical proposal, he explained that every time they arrive at a place and people listen to it, they begin to feel the rhythm so typical and natural of Cubans, which confirms the roots of rumba and popular culture in society, something very rich at the time of conceiving the production.
Teresita Romero Miranda and Marina de Los Ángeles Collazo, members of the Voces Duo, do the voices of the musical and intervene as soloists, something that makes them very happy to be able to respond as Cuban and patriotic women, and affirm the legendary motto of ¡¡ Country or Death! Overcome.
Every time they call us, he asserted, the duo will be there, as it is our duty as artists and Cubans, to transmit from Camagüey, to the world and to the public that sees us, our identification with the culture and roots, synonyms of the country.
