Hundreds of women living in different sectors of the municipality of Los Alcarrizos and surrounding areas, attended from the early hours of this Saturday the medical operation for the prevention of breast cancer and other pathologies, carried out by the Vinicio Calventi hospital with the support of the SNS.
Dr. José Alfaro, director of the Calventi Hospital, expressed his gratitude to Dr. Mario Lama, director of the (SNS), and to the medical and nursing staff of the service for their support during this great medical event.
The doctor said, “I am satisfied by the massive attendance of women and men of all ages who came to this event and who were interested in being evaluated by medical personnel, to find out about their health conditions,”
During the breast cancer prevention day, mammography, sonograms and prostate screening were performed for men with PCA, for which several well-equipped and air-conditioned units were installed by the SNS.
The operation had the support of the Cancer Prevention Foundation (FUPRECA) and the Association of Women of Los Alcarrizos (ASOMUAL), who since the beginning of the medical operation guided, received and gave assistance to those present.
Community leaders, presidents of neighborhood associations and pastors from different churches also participated.
It is worth noting that a team of doctors and nurses from the Calventi Hospital, headed by the head of surgery, Dr. Batista, and the prominent gynecologist Ramón Solís, received and evaluated those present.
In the same vein, Dr. Alfaro said that if any of these people were found to have any health problems, the hospital’s medical directors have the task of providing the necessary follow-up to that patient.
