Calls to Fire Department Over Realistic Halloween Decoration in New York Home

NEW YORK — A New York home’s elaborate Halloween decoration caused quite a stir among the local fire department.

Firefighters from the town of Glens Falls in Warren County, just north of Saratoga Springs, were called to a home near Sanford Street Saturday night after flames were believed to be engulfing the interior of the home. .

But the “fire” wasn’t real, just part of a decoration that looked too real from the outside. Firefighters posted a video of the house on social media, hoping others would see it and not call the department.

“To our surprise, this was an amazing Halloween decoration,” the local firefighters union said on Facebook.

The union said Halloween decorations will be up on Friday and Saturday nights through the end of October.
