Calls not to buy a food supplement that contains an unauthorized substance – Health

The Food and Veterinary Office (FVS) calls for the purchase of raw supplements “Raw Powders Phenibut” (in capsule form) and “Raw Powders Phenibut” because they contain phenibutum, a pharmaceutical substance that is not authorized for human consumption and whose uncontrolled use causes risk to consumer health.

This product has been alerted by the European Union’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed.

Both of the above-mentioned food supplements are not registered in the FVS Register of Food Supplements, therefore their distribution in Latvia is prohibited, but they are offered in various foreign online stores.

The FVS urges consumers who have purchased and used Raw Powders Phenibut to stop using it and return the products to the distributor.
