The deputy morenista, Lorena Villavicencioasked the president of the Republic Andrés Manuel López Obrador reconsider and offer an apology for his statements today, in which not only ensured the ignorance of the National council to Prevent Discrimination (Conapred), but that minimized his work.
That damages not only the institution, “but also the memory and good name of all those who fought to prevent and eliminate all forms of discrimination and promoting equality of opportunity and treatment” as the now-defunct Gilberto Rincón Gallardo, “tireless fighter and recognized the historical leader of the left in Mexico”.
Villavicencio, coordinator of the sub-commission of attention to Femicides of the Justice Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, asserted that the Conapred should not disappear because it is one of the institutions the product of social struggle.
But he also defended the Executive commission of Attention to Victims (CEAV) to the trim operating 75% of its budget for current expenditure, which could lead to their demise.
Today, more than 7 thousand 200 victims are being treated in the Centers of Integral Attention of CEAV across the country, and if cancelled will cease to have the attention of medical, psychological, social and legal guidance, as well as prevent the victims to access compensation.
The extinction of such a Commission would disappear the Registration of victims to access reparation of damage (Reanvi), which serves more than 500 requests per day.
Villavicencio Ayala has also warned that without the Commission would be pending “thousand 100 resolutions and 610 judicial proceedings pending, some of the National Human Rights Commission, the inter-American Court, among others, and issues such as Ayotzinapa, the dirty War, Atenco, Tanhuato, nursery ABC Tlatlaya, Casino Royale”.
That’s why he called to defend the permanence of Conapred and the CEAV , “created for the protection of the most vulnerable, ensuring their protection and respect of their human rights”.
