Callisto Protocol game review summary

Just at the beginning of December, the developers of Striking Distance Studios, led by Glen Schofield, behind the Dead Space games, prepared for us the release of the new survival horror The Callisto Protocol.

What marks does the game receive from foreign reviewers? The answer to can be found below.

Right

Incredibly grueling futility is probably the best way to describe The Callisto Protocol, because no matter how strong my resolve, I was constantly on edge, savoring the fleeting moments the game allowed me to exhale after yet another deadly battle. The constant fear and dread evoked by the phenomenal visuals and sound processing only complements the gripping story. Hopefully, Callisto Protocol is the start of an exciting new series and further proof that survival horror is not dead.

Action horror clearly inspired by Dead Space, but also Alien and Riddick movies/games. The Callisto Protocol has promised a lot in recent months and, after its completion, we can say that it has kept almost all of its promises. Get ready for an exciting experience that will be very difficult for you to tear yourself away from.

The Callisto Protocol is the first in a series of survival titles to appear in the coming months, and it’s a solid debut from developer Striking Distance Studios, setting the stage for what is hoped to come.

Protocol Callisto tries to achieve what Dead Space once achieved and fails miserably. It recreates all the brutality and tension that drained the blood from our faces while playing Dead Space, but then once you find yourself fighting for your life, it quickly leaves you frustrated and disappointed.

Protocol Callisto is a satisfyingly gory spiritual successor to the Dead Space series, but ultimately more of a striking modern imitator than a terrifying new mutation.

VGC extension

Protocol Callisto offers violence, intensity and horror to match its predecessor Dead Space, but with deeper strategic combat. However, the clichéd story and lack of original ideas prevent the novelty from becoming a great game.

Reverse

The Callisto Protocol is a thrilling survival horror, desolate and brutal in the early hours. However, in the second half, the game is hampered by huge jumps in difficulty and cumbersome close quarters combat.

Dead Space 4 in all but name, just with no puzzles and surprisingly little tension. Callisto Protocol has plenty of gritty action, but that’s not enough to keep the game interesting throughout its run.

It is a pity that the Callisto protocol is inherently so uninteresting. While it looks nice on the surface, a dozen hours of meaningless gameplay quickly wears you out of the initial excitement.
