Calling witnesses after the incident on Luisenplatz

Darmstadt (ots) – On Friday (March 12th) at around 3:45 p.m. on Luisenplatz in Darmstadt, a distance electro pulse device (DEIG for short) was used by the police. Passers-by reported via the emergency number that a male person was holding a knife in his hand and was walking around on Luisenplatz. The police, who were immediately called in, were able to put the person on Luisenplatz. Even after repeated requests, she did not drop the knife. With the help of DEIG, the person was made incapable of attack and then arrested. The 24-year-old was then placed in a hospital for a medical examination and psychological treatment. In this context, the police are looking for people who were previously addressed by the arrested person on Luisenplatz or who can provide information about the previous behavior of the arrested person. Please contact the 1st police station in Darmstadt at 06151/969 3610.
