FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA— Social media activist Eko Kuntadhi has also highlighted the news that the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) is not according to standards, which is said to be proposed as the venue for the 2023 U-17 World Cup.
One of the reasons why JIS does not meet the standards of the International Football Federation or FIFA is related to the parking capacity which can only accommodate 800 four-wheeled vehicles. This is considered not comparable to the capacity of the stadium which reached 82 thousand spectators.
Because of this, this friend of social media activist Denny Siregar also insinuated that JIS had not been optimal as a means of infrastructure built by former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan.
“For the U17 World Cup, reportedly PSSI will not use JIS. The reason is because JIS does not comply with FIFA standards,” he tweeted, in his Twitter account seen Friday (30/6/2023).
He continued, he also insinuated that JIS had been used as a place for Eid prayers by Anies Baswedan.
“Yes, not all stadiums are suitable for sporting events. Some are only suitable for Eid prayers,” he tweeted.
“The important thing is that there are still benefits. JIS is much more useful than Hambalang,” he continued. (Populist)
