NEW YORK (VG) Police say they want to get in touch with a “person of interest” in connection with the shooting on a subway in Brooklyn, New York on Tuesday. The motive of the perpetrator is still unknown.

The police in New York are now going out with the name and picture of a person they want to get in touch with. The man is said to have rented a car that they believe is connected to the incident. The car was allegedly rented in Philadelphia the day before the shooting, and was found in Brooklyn.
– We want to find out if this man has any connection to what happened on the subway, says NYPD investigation chief James Essig.
Asked by the press, he emphasizes that the police have not yet arrested anyone.
