President Jokowi Widodo (Jokowi) mentioned the names of the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 Presidential Election during his remarks at PPP’s 50th Anniversary (Harlah). Minister of BUMN, Erick Thohirwho is also called Jokowi’s greeting pinned to many figures.
“Yesterday Pak Jokowi said that the presidential and vice presidential candidates were Pak Prabowo there, then the cawapres was Pak Sandi, don’t forget that there was Pak AHY earlier,” said Erick at Graha PENA 98, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Sunday (19/2/ 2023).
Erick Thohir said Jokowi’s greeting indicated that the head of state saw these names as good figures. He considered that Jokowi could judge these figures as good figures.
“And it was also mentioned that there were Pak Mahfud and I, so there were a lot of them. Of course what he saw might be good figures. But of course what good figures mean, they also have to work well,” said Erick.
“Not only does it look good, but it doesn’t do any good, so it’s free,” he said.
Erick Thohir emphasizing that the presidential and cawapres candidates are the realm of the party while alluding to the 20% threshold rule for a presidential candidate or presidential threshold. Erick Thohir emphasized that he was focused on advancing football in Indonesia.
“In today’s context I have to continue what is called football transformation first, this is the most important. If the problem is the height from the survey results does not indicate that an individual can nominate. Because indeed what is called Indonesian politics must be 20 percent, what does that mean, party. That means Yes, all of that is of course the right of each party to nominate anyone,” he said.
