Chennai. A 39-year-old woman in Tamil Nadu has been arrested for allegedly killing her ex-boyfriend, who reportedly went missing in March. The woman, along with her friends, cut his body into pieces and buried them in the sand at Kovalam, on the outskirts of Chennai. According to the police, the woman works as a sex worker. At the same time, the victim has been identified as M Jayanthan, ground staff of a private airlines at Chennai International Airport. He lived with his sister’s family near Nanganallur in Chennai.

Pazhavanthangal police had received a complaint from Jayanthan’s sister that her brother was missing since March 18 and his mobile was switched off. The police registered an FIR on March 20 and started looking for him. Police said that on the basis of call recordings and other evidence, they found that Jayanthanji had gone to Pudukkottai to meet Bhagyalakshmi and they were in a relationship. In the strict interrogation of the police, the girl confessed to the murder. A senior official told that the woman, a sex worker by profession, had married her client Jayant in the temple some time ago, but later separated.

On 18 March, Jayanthan went to Pudukkottai to meet Bhagyalakshmi. There, the woman killed him with the help of another person. After that she cut the dead bodies into pieces and packed them in a plastic bag, and brought the cut pieces to Kovalam and there she threw the polythene filled with the dead bodies in the sand. Police told that we are yet to get complete information. Pudukkottai police is also conducting further investigation on this.

According to information received from sources, Bhagyalakshmi used to go to Chennai for sex work, where she was acquainted with some men in Kovalam. With the help of these people, he had planned to dispose of Jayantan’s body parts. Police said she told them that she had come twice to the outskirts of the city to dump the body parts—once by bus and once in a hired cab. Kovalam police is identifying the body parts and searching for others involved in the murder.
