Former president United States of America (HOW) Donald Trump responding to reports by calling himself grumpy because of the results by-election which is not as expected. What did Trump say?
As reported CNNThursday (11/10/2022), Trump in an interview with Fox News he called reports stating that he was angry that the candidate he claimed had lost the US by-election as fake. Trump said instead that the candidate he supported has achieved excellent results.
“There is a fake news narrative that I am angry with, on the contrary,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News Wednesday (9/11) local time.
“The people I support have done very well. I supported 98.6 percent (candidates) in the primary and 216 (supported candidates) to 19 (candidates who lost) in the general election – that’s amazing,” he explained.
Trump praised some of the candidates he supported, such as Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley and Florida Senator Marco Rubio. Trump campaigned for Grassley and Rubio before the by-election, but both were known to have won before Trump even declared support for him.
“All of these winners are my people,” Trump said.
Trump is known to have expressed support for 216 Republican candidates in the November 8 by-election, with “only” 19 candidates losing to Democratic candidates. One of the losing candidates was Mehmet Oz, a famous doctor who had never held public office before.
Oz lost to Democratic candidate John Fetterman in the Pennsylvania Senator election, a crucial state for securing a majority in the United States Congress. Oz’s defeat in Pennsylvania is even more painful because the state was previously controlled by the Republican Party and has now fallen into the hands of the Democratic Party.
