Although it is nice to always look at the blockbuster version of a game, we at Gamekings also think it is important to view smaller titles from time to time. For example because they stand out or because we receive a lot of questions from the community about them. That is why Daan has thrown himself on top of Call of the Sea. Together with JJ he checks whether this smaller game is worth playing. This is the Call of the Sea Review.
A catchy story?
Call of the Sea is a game that revolves around its story. You play as Norah Everhart, who receives a package with a message in it. This message comes from her husband Harry, and the message leads Norah on a journey to a mysterious island. On this island she finds out that something is not quite right. The reason for all this? Norah is ill, she suffers from a disease that leaves separate spots on her hands. Her husband Harry then started an expedition in search of a cure, which brought him to this mysterious island. That all sounds very interesting, but did Daan find the story catchy enough to play it through to the end?
Puzzle like a Sherlock Holmes in Call of the Sea
So you are looking for your husband on the island. How do you do that? By solving puzzles and clues like a real Sherlock Holmes. Through these puzzles and / or clues you hope to make your way to your spouse or his expedition members, who have also disappeared. But what kind of puzzles does this game consist of? Daan gives a good example of a music device that is linked to a number of floating stones. And these floating stones are linked to certain pitches. But a game whose gameplay consists of puzzle solving lives or dies with the quality of its puzzles. And are these puzzles challenging enough to make Zane crack his brain? You will find out in the Call of the Sea Review.
