Call of Duty: Warzone – Metro is a brilliant feature (video)

Two reasons why the new Call of Duty Warzone Metro system is brilliant. And one reason why maybe not …

Call of Duty: Warzone is probably the most popular battle royale game of the moment. This will partly be due to the beautiful graphics, addictive gameplay and unique gameplay mechanics such as the Gulag. There is now another reason, namely the new Metro system. And there are two reasons why the addition of the underground transportation system is brilliant.

How does the Call of Duty: Warzone Metro work?

Trains were introduced with the release of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6. The loot trains were a way of transport, a focal point for loot and a nice new addition to the game’s ‘flow’. Now the Verdansk Subway System is added, or the Metro.

The Warzone Metro runs autonomously through the map and stops at various stations. The metro contains some loot and the stations are also rich in gear. If a station falls outside the viable circle, the train will continue to the nearest safe point. But there is one catch: you are not allowed to fight on board the metro!

Peace zone

The Metro in Warzone is actually a peace zone, but what does that mean? Basically, players can just fight on the train; weapons are not blocked. But as soon as there is shot, whacked or blown up on a route or at an arriving station, the train stops.

The idea behind Activision is that the Warzone metro system is a place where players can relax for a while. You can quickly reload your weapons, repair armor or exchange items with your squad.

Fast travel

Like the train, the Metro in Warzone is a fast way to move around Verdansk. Especially when you need to escape the circle or quickly complete a Contract, the Metro is ideal.

But… one-way trip to ambush-city

But don’t forget that the closed tunnels and stations are a paradise for ambushes. Activision says it itself in the announcement blog post best:

Ambush! Because of the potentially massive impact of this fast travel system, you shouldn’t let your enemies use it for free. If you suspect an enemy squad wants to travel underground, set up some traps in the stairwells or surrounding entrances.

So the new Warzone Metro can be a curse and a blessing. Either way, it again gives the game an extra layer. Call of Duty: Warzone season 6 including the subway launches on September 29.
