Call of Duty: Warzone gets mobile version

Activision has this week revealed that Call of Duty: Warzone is on its way to mobile. The announcement came in the form of a series job postings published on the developer’s website.

The details of the game are currently very vague, but the goal is to bring “Call of Duty: Warzone exciting, fluid and large-scale action experience to players on the go.”

Activision also says that this version of Warzone is built from the ground up for mobile. There will thus be no easy porting of previous editions. The game will also keep going for many years to come, the developer promises.

Call of Duty-battle royale is of course already available on phones, via Call of Duty: Mobile. That game is admittedly developed by the external studio TiMi, while Activision’s own developers will be responsible for the mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone. Whether this means changes for Call of Duty: Mobile remains to be seen.

On new version of Warzone is also on its way to PCs and consoles. Potentially, the mobile version may come at the same time as this, but so far Activision has not said anything about launch plans.
