A well-known insider CharlieIntel revealed that this year’s Call of Duty, subtitled Modern Warfare 3, will be first in open beta form available to players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. This information came to light thanks to a leak from Sony’s Arabic YouTube channel.
Following the pattern of previous years, we can therefore assume that both the closed and open beta will be available to owners of Sony consoles with some advance notice, and only later to PC and Xbox players. Exclusive deal between Activision and Sony it was closed before Microsoft bought out all of Activision, so some lingering exclusivity isn’t surprising in that respect.
At the same time, it was confirmed that this year’s installment, in addition to the current generation of consoles and PC it will also come out to the last generation in the form of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Despite earlier speculations that indicated a reduction in the price tag, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 should eventually cost the traditional 70 euros. We will find out more information on August 17, when the full performance will take place.
