Activision Blizzard wil meer Call of Duty: Mobile’s
Call of Duty: Mobile’s success is likely due to a number of reasons. First of all, it is the biggest shooter franchise at the moment. In addition, it appeals to such a large target group and the franchise represents the most popular game genre. All of that came together in a solidly developed mobile game, that one too officially on PC to play.
Now, the billion-dollar company is letting investors know that CoD: Mobile tastes like more. In the most recent earnings call says Activision Blizzard eventually wants to release all their franchises as a Mobile version (via GameSpot).
Mobile is not the neglected child
Activision Blizzard is thus responding to a gigantic market. After all, ‘real’ gamers are often a bit giggly about mobile gaming. Yours truly is often guilty of this. But secretly mobile gaming represents the majority of all gamers worldwide. Especially in poorer countries, gaming on a smartphone is very normal, whether or not due to a lack of other hardware.
Activision Blizzard therefore promises a Mobile version of their games for all those gamers. Not surprising, considering Candy Crush is one of the highest-earning mobile games ever. Hearthstone and now CoD: Mobile also yield Activision Blizzard hundreds of millions.
Activision Blizzard does not yet announce which franchises will come to Mobile and in which formats. We only know that a Diablo game is currently being worked on for smartphones.
