«Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War» has just implemented support for Nvidia’s DLSS technology, along with three other games – and there’s no doubt that this means huge performance jumps.
“Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” takes extreme advantage of the impressive technology, and runs with up to 85% higher FPS in 4K with DLSS turned on.
In other words, you get almost double the performance, so even with a video card from the previous generation, like the RTX 2070 Super, you now get an average of 76 FPS according to Nvidia’s internal tests – compared to 39 FPS without DLSS turned on. The test was performed in 4K and in so-called DLSS “performance mode”, with ray tracing turned on.

The final results, as you can see in the charts above, are really impressive. As it stands now, lucky owners of the RTX 3080 can expect close to 120 FPS in 4K with all of the ray tracing effects turned on.
Huge performance jumps
The other PC games that have received support for DLSS are “War Thunder”, “Enlisted” and “Ready Or Not”, and in the latter the upscaling technology manages to improve performance by as much as 120%. According to Nvidia’s tests, an RTX 3070 manages 70 FPS in 4K with ray tracing turned on, while the game only runs at around 30 FPS without DLSS.
“Enlisted” also gets a performance jump of just over 50% in 4K with DLSS turned on if you use an RTX 3070 video card. Another impressive result. “War Thunder” does not have as much to gain from turning on DLSS, but it is still not an improvement you should look at, you get after all 30% better performance if you use a 3070.
It is clear that the latest version of DLSS (version 2.0), which was launched earlier this year, does a good job of ensuring silky smooth performance, especially when moving to 4K.
Remember that Nvidia gives away “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” for free if you buy one of the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 video cards (it should be said that it is not very easy to buy one of these cards nowadays.) The shooter also supports Nvidia’s Reflex technology, which reduces the latency between when you performs an action and when it takes place in the game. (The latency improvement can be up to 20% if you use a video card such as the GTX 1660 Super.)
