Jakarta: Call of Duty (COD) game franchise turned out to be a pocket of income for the publisher. It is reported that Activision made big profits this year only from Call of Duty.
This success is claimed to come from the strategy shared ecosystem businessfrom three series namely Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019), Call of Duty Warzone, and Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War including COD Mobile.
Quoted from Eurogamer, Call of Duty generated a profit of up to USD3 billion or IDR 42.3 trillion. In the three Call of Duty games on PC and console, Activision has developed an ecosystem to unify the progress of the game.

Call of Duty Warzone is a free Call of Duty game that focuses only on battle royale mode. This series was then made available by Activision from the Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019) and Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, which were released last month.
The combined revenue from Call of Duty Warzone and Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019) itself is claimed to reach a range of USD 500 million or IDR 7.1 trillion in the summer or last June to September in the United States.
Activision designed the multiplayer mode game progression and battle pass of the two games mentioned earlier to be compatible in the Call of Duty Warzone series. So gamers won’t feel that they will buy too much of the Call of Duty game series.
Call of Duty Warzone itself is Activision’s weapon to compete in the battle royale genre plus this game is free, aka free-to-play. That’s why the Call of Duty Warzone series is predicted to continue to be played by gamers even though in the future Activision might release the latest Call of Duty series.
