It really never happens that we hear about a Call of Duty game for the next year before the current year’s game is revealed. Yet we know more about Call of Duty 2022 through job openings.
Infinity Ward will once again be at the helm of the new Call of Duty next year. After Treyarch took over from Sledgehammer last year, and it’s his turn again this year, the Modern Warfare developer will take charge of Call of Duty 2022.
The developer is looking for various developers for that game, such as game designer, level designer and a senior AI engineer. In all vacancies mention is made of single player and co-op elements. So we can at least assume that these will be available next year, but don’t expect the first official information about that until next year.
First up is Call of Duty 2021 (Vanguard) which will most likely be unveiled next month in Warzone. The game is said to be set in an alternate dimension in which the Second World War continues in the 1950s.
We’ll have to be patient for a while, but chances are the full reveal of one of Call of Duty 2021’s modes (Vanguard) will take place during Gamescom.
