Cologne call for help to Laschet
In Cologne, those responsible also want tougher measures. The city’s crisis team sent a call for help to Laschet on Monday. It states that the corona rules currently in force in Cologne would by far not be sufficient. We ask for leeway in order to be able to take further measures. Without specifically addressing it, it could be night curfews.
The call for help comes because the corona situation in Cologne is worsening. The 7-day incidence of around 150 is only slightly higher than that of the whole of North Rhine-Westphalia. But there is already an alarm mood in the intensive care units of the Cologne clinics. There are now more patients there than at the height of the second wave. And of the total of 390 intensive care beds, only 20 free places were reported on Monday.
