The City of Bordeaux wishes encourage the provision of vacant spaces in companies for the benefit of small local businesses, self-employed people or associations. As part of this project, the City positions itself as a facilitator of cooperation: it collects requests/offers and organizes the meeting between suppliers and applicants.*
Identify offers and demands
In order to highlight the opportunities for co-habitation of several economic actors in the same location, this call for expressions of interest aims to list:
- “Space providers” that is to say, companies which have vacant spaces (tertiary premises, offices, warehouses, premises for craft purposes, workshops, meeting rooms, etc.), which they have no use for and which are ready to make them available free of charge or at a moderate rate.
- The “space seekers”that is to say small local businesses, self-employed people or associations looking for a space to work.
Connect suppliers and applicants
Once the proposals and needs have been identified, and to guarantee a balance between supply and demand, the City of Bordeaux will be able to organize meetings between the suppliers and the applicants.
Applicants for compatible spaces will come and pitch their project and their needs to space providers during an event organized by the City of Bordeaux (early 2025). At this time, everyone will be able to freely discuss the reception arrangements (free, moderate rent, technical constraints, timetables, logistics, payment of charges, etc.). Once the contours of the cooperation have been outlined, the two protagonists will be able to organize themselves legally and logistically.
Upstream, the town hall will be able to offer support from a specialized operator on real estate and land issues, making it possible to remove the administrative and legal obstacles to providing a space.
