The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), through the Directorate of Economic and Social Benefits, launched the call for theatrical groups, to form the 2021 theater program of the institute.
The program sought is: classical theater; contemporary; theater with health and prevention themes; theater for boys, girls and young people; musical, operetta and zarzuela; debut feature in directing, dramaturgy or cast of recent graduates; stage dance; stage music and stage circus.
The participating theaters are those located in Aguascalientes, Culiacán, Durango, Guadalajara, Morelia, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tlaxcala and Zacatecas.
As well as the following from Mexico City: Cuauhtémoc, Hidalgo, Independencia, Isabela Corona, Julio Prieto, Legaria and Tepeyac.
Presentations will be limited to these theaters only, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In total, four projects will be chosen per venue, with up to 12 functions per project each season, who will obtain 85 percent of the box office, while the remaining 15 percent will go to the institution, a resource that will be obtained after covering operating expenses. , tax and copyright to which said income is subject by regulations.
The maximum cost of the ticket will be 200 pesos, with the discounts established by law: Inapam, students, teachers, beneficiaries and IMSS and INBAL personnel.
The call will be open until June 5, 2021, at 11:59 p.m., time in which the interested parties will be able to submit the requested documentation and requirements.

The result will be announced on July 5, 2021, and the IMSS will establish the programming dates during the August-December 2021 period, according to the epidemiological traffic light of each state.
