Call 2023 “Materials, health and measures: at the center of nuclear challenges”

With the renewal of the framework agreement at the end of 2020 and the development of a joint roadmap last April, IRSN and CNRS expressed their desire to strengthen their partnership and make it an instrument at the service of their respective strategic objectives.

This 2023 call is aimed at projects that fall within the following topics :

  • Alteration of component and structure materials;
  • New nuclear techniques for health;
  • Sensors and metrology.

To better position their proposals with respect to these issues, it is possible to consult the document “AAP-IRSN-CNRS” attached to the announcement.

Eligibility criteria

  • This announcement is open to any proposal submitted jointly by a permanent researcher of the IRSN and a permanent researcher belonging to a unit of the CNRS (CR, DR, MCF, PR, IR);
  • The consortia formed will bring together at least one research unit of the IRSN and one unit of the CNRS. In the case of a larger consortium, the involvement of units linked to different CNRS institutes will be encouraged. If necessary, the consortium can also involve partners from research organizations other than CNRS and IRSN, foreign or industrial partners, but these cannot then be financed;
  • The submitted projects must be carried out over a period of two years;
  • The presentation of the proposal will take place in agreement with the management of the shares of the holders of IRSN4 and of the holders of CNRS.

Financing

The scientific project will be accompanied by a budget request that will indicate the funding requested during the duration of the project:

  • IRSN teams can request:
    • financing from the IRSN credit for the operating costs5 that they intend to sustain for the realization of the project. The loan request will concern a maximum amount of € 30,000 per year;
    • hiring by the IRSN of a postdoc for a maximum period of 18 months.
  • CNRS teams can request:
    • loan from CNRS / MITI credit for operating expenses4 which they intend to sustain for the realization of the project. The loan request will concern a maximum amount of € 30,000 per year;
