California, origin of LGBTQ+ Pride, celebrates it again in style

It was during the last weekend of June 1970 that Los Angeles and San Francisco held the first Pride parades in the country. Today, the golden state has a variety of celebrations throughout its territory during the pride month as well as a vibrant economy built on businesses that impact the LGBTQ+ community every day.

Redding Pride is the largest annual gathering supporting the LGBTQ+ community in the area. The festival supports diversity and attracts a wide range of businesses, organizations and non-profits.

Pride in Wine Country

Sonoma is considered one of the friendliest destinations with the LGBTQ+ community in the country and the 36th Sonoma County Pride Celebration which lasts three days, celebrates diversity with a great family show in downtown Santa Rosa, this year it will be from June 3 to 5. The weekend includes movie night, happy hour, parade and festival.

Fifty-two years after hosting one of the first Pride Parades in the country, San Francisco is preparing to once again celebrate the June 25 and 26 at the Civic Center. The San Francisco Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Pride Celebration and Parade It will feature more than 200 parade participants and exhibitors and more than 20 stages and community-run venues. It is the largest Pride celebration in the United States and attracts visitors from all over the world.

The Fresno Rainbow Pride Parade and Festival, takes place the first Saturday of every June and is the largest LGBTQ+ parade in the Central Valley. The celebration is held in the Tower District and features a parade, entertainment, and vendors.

June 18the charity Glow Walk for Love of Riverside will be in charge of raising money for Riverside LGBTQ+ Pride. The night event has participants wandering through a race of glow-in-the-dark zones where they will encounter lovely characters and will be cheered on by a team of drag queen cheerleaders. Besides of brightness and colorthroughout the night there will be vendors and lots of entertainment.

San Diego celebrates Pride in July with one of the pride parades largest in the country, attracting more than 300,000 people. Come to see colorful floats, artists and more the July 16th. The entire weekend is dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQ+ community with the parade, a music festival in Balboa Park and a 5 km race.
